Tourist Information about Jaen

The province of Jaen is proud of its two Renaissance cities Úbeda and Baeza. The Roman and Moorish governors appreciated the strategic location of these cities. Until the first half the 13 Century, the region was under the Arab domination, but soon Jaén was reconquered by Christians. Thanks to Charles V and Philip II, this region became an important centre of the Spanish Monarchy and nowadays you can still see many of the magnificent buildings and beautiful spots that remain from that time. Nature lovers will find here a variety of beautiful hiking routes, surrounded by lots of olive groves and the nature reserve of Sierra Mágina.
